In a Group of People

Hey!

Great to speak to all of you again :D
So you may think this topic is boring...it kind of is...lol.
Anyway...
I was sitting in a corridor yesterday, with what I call my morning buddies, but then I realise, I don't actually know them that well. I was wondering why this was, and I came to the conclusion that it was because I can't hear them talking...plus the feeling of having just woken up :)

So, I was wondering, how often do people actually listen to someone they see all the time, but don't attempt to know them?

I get to know people best in class, where we aren't as spread out or it isn't as noisy.

Of course, the other side of this is that my "morning buddies" haven't made as much as an attempt to get to know me.

They don't seem to realise that I don't particpate in conversation in the morning because I have no idea of what they are talking about!

When I do hear something, and respond, I often get greeted with looks of suprise...and often with a 'interesting' reponse...

The weird thing about this is, anyone who does actually know me, knows I am very chatty... :D

So, I'm not quiet by choice, but because I'm limited as to what I can hear.

Take from this post a request.

Please get to know those people you see everyday, talk to, but you don't actually know how many brothers and sisters they have or what they do in their spare time.

You won't regret it. :D

HEY! Welcome!

Hey!

Thanks for reading my newly created blog.

My blog will be a bit different to the normal one, just because I have a whole set of problems most people probably don't have.

My Blog is called the Girl with Stereo Sound, because that's pretty much who I am.
I was born profoundly deaf, but I am lucky enough to be able to hear and speak, thanks to the help of the AMAZING Australian invention of Cochlear Implants.

My first Cochlear Implant was implanted when I was nearly 4, and my second one when I was nearly 14. I am now 2 months away from my 16th birthday.

My aim will be to show everyone how a girl with digital hearing sees the world, and I hope this will make my blog different from others. I will update every time something is thrown my way that I realise is different to me than to other people.

Thankyou, and I hope you will join the Girl with Stereo sound on her journey to making others aware of the amazing cochlear implant.

xoxo
